I just received a call from Chuck Sontag. He was out by the
lighthouse on the north breakwall of the Manitowoc impoundment about
mid afternoon. A PACIFIC LOON flew in and landed just out from the
lighthouse. From what he said it was in partial breeding plumage!
It remained in the area for some time, until a Coast Guard boat came
back into the harbor, chasing the loon farther out on the lake and
towards the north end of the impoundment.
Good luck anyone trying for it.
