Checked in today on the black-legged kittiwake in Port Washington and the Lake Church Harris's sparrow, both found easily and quickly. Had a nice comparison opportunity with two black-backed gulls, great and lesser, both first winter, sitting side by side in the open water at Port Washington north of the harbor. Six Mile Road yielded one snowy owl sitting in the middle of a field, and a few small groups of horned larks, one group also containing two Lapland longspurs.
