Conditions tonight look absolutely perfect for running Owl Survey routes - mostly clear with light and variable winds. I'd urge anyone who hasn't been able to run their routes yet (like me) to try to do it tonight, as this may be the last chance before the end of the survey period. Wednesday night may be marginal at best in most locations - Thursday and Friday look dreadful. Speaking of light winds, the Madison lakes are mirror-like this morning. I was therefore surprised to not see any Loons, at least close enough to shore to see without binoculars, on either Monona or Mendota. I know they're out there...
