If in fact it is a python, (I did not receive a photo) best thing would be to let it freeze to death, which it may already have occurred. If it were to survive uncaptured, it would be a threat to small mammals, ground nests, etc. See Everglades and growing areas of the deep south for evidence. I asked if she knew snakes and she said she did. I showed her the picture and she said it was an illegally released python that needed rescuing. Needless to say, now I am really curious!
