As I was driving home heading east on I-90 from exit 5 to exit 15 I had at
least 500 nighthawks flying and swooping low over the interstate Tuesday
evening around 6:30. They were mostly concentrated just out of Onalaska flying
over the La Crosse river. I had another 400 or so over the Ft. McCoy airport
and Ft. McCoy Barrens SNA. As I was driving along I had one of the moments
where I was contemplating if anyone else driving through the area that evening
was enjoying the show as much as I was.....
