This morning a NELSON'S SPARROW was present along Peck Rd in SW Sauk County, a few miles NW of Spring Green. This is an area of fields between Cty JJ and Mercer Road which have been flooded for the past couple years and has turned into a weedy marsh. The Nelson's Sparrow was on the east side of Peck Rd in a weedy area to the north of the cattail reeds and south of the old cut off corn stalks. It perched in the open for about a minute and sang a few times, giving some pretty good views on a foggy morning. Also present were a couple SORAS, a MARSH WREN, and a lots of sparrows of which I tallied the following: Nelson's Sparrow - 1 Swamp Sparrow - 19 Song Sparrow - 26 Savannah Sparrow - 11 White-thr. Sparrow - 5 White-cr. Sparrow - 1 Chipping Sparrow - 2 Lapland Longspur - 1 Aaron Holschbach Arena Iowa County #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
