A check in Neenah and Menasha this afternoon revealed more open water at several locales. At Jones Island in Menasha there was a Belted Kingfisher (male), 2 Gadwalls and 2 Shovelers, plus several Bald Eagles and the usual ducks and geese. On the south end of Little Lake Butte des Morts at least one D-c Cormorant was present. Good numbers of ducks are at Kimberly Pt in Neenah. It is interesting that the good variety of ducks seen on the Appleton CBC has diminished, probably due to the cold weather, until recently. One wonders where they went, as some were only around on the count, not before or after.
