Tom has been conducting point counts of shorebirds and waterbirds during the spring, summer and fall of 2013 at several places on the shore of Green Bay and along the new wave barrier structure that is part of the Cat Island Chain restoration project. Tom will discuss why this research is important, his methods, and some results and stories from the first year of surveys. He recorded 30 species of shorebirds, several of which are uncommon. Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary, Nature Center-Estuary Room (downstairs), 1660 East Shore Drive, Green Bay. Free and open to the public, refreshments after the program.
