I have a big backyard. (2 acres) it borders a old pasture. I have various fruit
trees in my backyard and giant Mulberries in my woods. I currently have 2
nectar feeders in my backyard. A mealworm station and 2 other feeders. 3 suet
feeders and a nyjer feeder. This morning the birds have been singing and eating
away. Here’s what’s been here so far.
Robins 6
Grackle 2
Mourning Dove 3
Starling 1
Cowbird 1
House Finch 4
Goldfinch 7
Sparrows 3
Baltimore Orioles 12
Orchard orioles 4
Rose breasted Grosbeaks 8
Tufted titmouse 1
Hummingbird 2
Eastern Bluebirds 2
Red headed woodpeckers 1
Indigo Buntings 1
White Breasted nuthatch 1
Also heard a catbird.
The bluebirds have been sitting on eggs in one of my bluebird houses and I’m
patiently waiting for them to hatch. Lately I have been refilling my feeders
everyday with bird seed. I just got into birds a few years ago and I am glad
that I did. If you build it and feed them they will come. Have a great day
everyone. Ryan Isbell Retreat, WI. South western Vernon County.
