Yesterday at South Metro Pier I have about a dozen Ring-Necked Ducks, but by this morning they had already moved on. More Bonaparte's Gulls have arrived, plus FOY Eastern Phoebes and Tree Swallows. Today at Lake Park I had a Winter Wren, Yellow-Bellied Sapsuckers, and Fox Sparrows, and at Lakeshore State Park I had a singing Eastern Meadowlark and at least 18 Horned Grebes and five Pied-Billed Grebes. The Horned Grebes were mostly in brilliant breeding plumage; two were still in transition, and one remained in winter plumage.
