This afternoon I spent an enjoyable 45 minutes watching a mixed flock of 100+ small birds at they fed in the grasses and weeds on the edge of the CGI. They would frequently all fly up and perch along the cyclone fencing and in the small trees, then return to feeding. There were at least 60 American Tree Sparrows, two Savannah Sparrows, a dozen or so Dark-eyed Juncos, about 40 Common Redpolls, and two Hoary Redpolls, a male and female (one had a clean white breast, the other had a very faint pink tinge). A Northern Harrier was working the interior of the CGI. A delightful spectacle!
