Today at noon a LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE was perched in a dead bush in the middle of the large sand blowout near the west end of the preserve. The shrike even sang a couple times. I don't think I've heard one sing before, at least not in WI. The YELLOW-BR. CHAT was also calling from the base of the bluff, and a few DICKCISSELS are now back. I did not walk far enough east to look for the Mockingbirds, and I did look for the Blue Grosbeak but had no luck.
