Myself and another hiked the Ice Age Trail through Kettle Moraine Loew Lake unit today (just south of Holy Hill). Highlights were at least 3 FIELD SPARROWs (FOY), 14 tree swallows (FOY) fighting over nest boxes, an eastern bluebird, a fox sparrow (haven't seen one in a while, what a behemoth sparrow) and a number of eastern phoebes. On the way back I had at least 7 buffleheads on the Occonomowoc River along with a pair of pied billed grebes and one or two common mergansers. Also heard a number of eastern meadowlarks at the Waukesha airport today. -Mike Duchek, Waukesha, Waukesha Co. #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
