T he next meeting of the Horicon Marsh Bird Club will be on Thursday, October 17th, at 7:00 p.m. at the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center. Guest speaker that evening will be Bill Mueller. Bill walked 246 miles across the state of Wisconsin this spring, with several goals in mind: (1) to raise funds via pledges to the Bird Protection Fund of the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin, and (2) to raise awareness about bird conservation. Bill accomplished both of those tasks. He'll share the story about the "Long Walk for Birds", how many bird species he recorded on his walk, plus much more about this adventure and what it was all about.
