Yesterday, over my lunch hour and after work, I found a Harris' Sparrow and other good birds along Fishermen's road (on the east side of the La Crosse Airport). Other birds seen by me and other birders included: White-throated, White-crowned, Lincoln's, Lark, Savannah, Song, Swamp, Clay-colored, and Chipping Sparrows, Cliff, Barn, Bank, Tree, and Northern Rough-winged Swallows, Purple Martins, Spotted Sandpipers, Orange-crowned, Palm, Black-throated Green, and Yellow-rumped Warblers, Brown Thrashers, Winter Wren, and more. The Harris's Sparrow was hanging out with a mixed group of sparrows that were feeding on the road side on the section of the road between that last 2 boat landings (about 200 yards east of the landing at the end of the road).
