Hi everyone-- Northern Rough-winged Swallows and a Brown Thrasher, both new arrivals, were in Estabrook Park, Milwaukee Co., this morning. A pair of Killdeer were on the expanse of mud that used to be the softball field. A half dozen Blue-winged Teal were still on the river, which has overrun its banks. If you go, wear boots! --Chuck Chuck Hagner Milwaukee Co., WI c_hagner@xxxxxxx Begin forwarded message: > From: do-not-reply@xxxxxxxxx > Subject: eBird Report - Estabrook Park, Apr 19, 2014 > Date: April 19, 2014 1:06:41 PM CDT > To: c_hagner@xxxxxxx > > Estabrook Park, Milwaukee, US-WI > Apr 19, 2014 7:20 AM - 11:05 AM > Protocol: Traveling > 3.0 mile(s) > 40 species (+1 other taxa) > > Canada Goose 14 Observed two geese sitting on nests at north and south > end of island in lagoon. > Wood Duck 2 Observed pair perched in tree. > Mallard 18 > Blue-winged Teal 6 > Double-crested Cormorant 30 Observed flying in a single northbound flock. > Great Blue Heron 1 > Turkey Vulture 1 > Killdeer 2 > gull sp. 7 > Rock Pigeon (Feral Pigeon) 7 > Mourning Dove 3 > Red-bellied Woodpecker 2 > Yellow-bellied Sapsucker 2 > Downy Woodpecker 10 > Northern Flicker 8 > Eastern Phoebe 2 > Blue Jay 1 > American Crow 4 > Northern Rough-winged Swallow 2 Observed hunting aerial insects over > lagoon. > Black-capped Chickadee 8 > White-breasted Nuthatch 2 > Brown Creeper 8 > Winter Wren 1 > Golden-crowned Kinglet 1 > Ruby-crowned Kinglet 12 > Eastern Bluebird 3 I may have observed one male two times. > Hermit Thrush 20 > American Robin 40 > Brown Thrasher 1 > European Starling 2 > Yellow-rumped Warbler 14 > Song Sparrow 5 > White-throated Sparrow 7 > Dark-eyed Junco 2 > Northern Cardinal 4 > Red-winged Blackbird 7 > Common Grackle 12 > Brown-headed Cowbird 14 > House Finch 2 > American Goldfinch 15 > House Sparrow 9 > > View this checklist online at > http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S17961332 > > This report was generated automatically by eBird v3 (http://ebird.org/wi) #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
