Just returned from a weekend in Sister Bay and environs. Did some work on bros property and also to take in the 100th anniversary of Peninsula State Park. Saturday a.m. joined in on the Discovery Bird Hike from the Ridges Sanctuary. While the group assembled in the parking lot at ~6:30 we had a flyby northern goshawk! Neat to "resee" birds from southern WI 200 miles north in breeding habitat, like b-t green and n. parulas. Also both "big" mergs, horned grebe, mute swans, and many grasshopper sparrows in the fields west of Bailey's Harbor. Also nice to meet Sue Peterson! Pretty horrible weather so the sailboat stayed in its slip.
