Our feeders were very depleted and deserted when we returned home from Florida and Walworth last week but slowly the birds are coming back in droves except for the woodpeckers. Lots of snow here mingled with rainy days between. My big excitement however is finding two pairs of Red Crossbills chowing down on sunflower seeds yesterday and today and also this a.m. a White-winged Female! I had seen the latter one year many moons ago in our Spruce trees in Walworth - though I did not ID them until one hit one of our windows. They have not been back there to my knowledge. They must be hungry to feed at the feeder - none of the Evergreens here have cones, though when they were first reported in the area I believe the Pine Siskins had demolished the Cedar cones up and down our road so none of the Cedar trees seem to have cones either. Lifers for this old lady! Hilary Ford, Ellison Bay Door CO. #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
