With highwater a lot of fields along the Mississippi River are covered with water. If the weather quits snowing and being cold I would think a mass of shorebirds should be arriving to those fields. Sunday and yesterday there was a few yellow legs and one avocet in a flooded field north of the cemetery on County Road K north of Prairie du Chien. It is snowing this morning so I will not even be trying to find the avocet. Dennis and Alice Kirschbaum 1505 E.
