I just left the UW Arboretum through the west entrance at 5:30. Over Noe Woods and the western part of the Curtis Prairie there were 40-50 Common Nighthawks feeding on a tremendous insect hatch. The setting sun made all the swirling insects glow. Besides nighthawks there were all the swallows as well as dragonflies and even a bat. Earlier I saw lots of Cedar Waxwings and Eastern Kingbirds around the Oak trees and Cottonwoods in or near Curtis Prairie. I could see many insects there too. Go take a look before nightfall. Good birding to all, Chuck Henrikson Madison, Dane County #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
