A quick stop at the Lake Wisconsin Causeway this afternoon yielded a young male
BLACK SCOTER associating with Goldeneye and Lesser Scaup on the west side of
Hwy V. It flew around some and was quite close to the road at times. The ice is
out which has dispersed the gulls and brought the loons in-- at least 30. Good
numbers of waterfowl remain with especially high numbers of Wigeon and
Canvasback.
