For the 3rd time, members of the Riveredge Bird Club participated in an
optics evaluation for Birder's World Magazine, this time lightweights.
The article describing the results is in the current issue of Birder's
World magazine.

Associate Editor Matt Mendenhall summarizes how members of the Riveredge
Bird Club ranked eight lightweight 8x binoculars -- Alpen Apex, Brunton
Echo, Bushnell Excursion EX, Eagle Optics Ranger SRT, Minox BL, Nikon
Monarch, Vixen Foresta HR, and Vortex Raptor. Binoculars are ranked by
image quality, feel, eye friendliness, and overall score, and each model
is scored by reviewers' answers to three questions: Is the binocular you
tested an upgrade over your present binocular? Is the binocular you
tested worth the money? Would you buy the binocular you tested?
On Friday I received a phone call from a lady in FL who wanted to talk
about the results and what I would recommend for her and her friends.
