Both species were still present as of ~10am this morning, which is when my boyfriend and I left Shoveler's Sink (Middleton). The duck was in the area with all the logs on the NE side of the pond, whereas the American Avocets (2-4 birds) were in the northern part. Other shorebird species were hard to identify; all I could really see were Lesser Yellowlegs, Killdeer, and peep species (Pectoral, smaller birds). Good birding!
