I started at High Cliff SP early this morning. There were at least 65 Flickers present! Also had my FOY Field Sparrow and Brown Thrasher. 22 Turkey Vultures were sitting on the harbor breakwalls. The B pond had both Gr and Le Yellowlegs. Collins Marsh was rather quiet with the only note an Osprey. Fischer Creek CP was very good however. FOY Rough-winged and Barn Swallow. Also present was a Red-throated Loon, 2 Surf Scoters, a flyby Pileated WP, Yellow-rumped Warbler and a few Ruby-cr. Kinglets and Br. Creepers. Sheboygan---the parking lot area of North Pt---was likewise very good. 4 Caspian Terns, several hundred Bonaparte's Gulls (in Manitowoc, Sheboygan and Ozaukee cos total there were about 1000), single Thayer's and Iceland Gulls, and 2 each Glaucous and Great Black-backed Gulls. The female Harlequin Duck was by the first breakwall. A few Common Loons migrated north. Kohler/Andrae SP had 4 Red-throated Loons just off shore, with one in full breeding plumage. Several more Common Loons passed by. Harrington Beach SP had 3 Red-throated Loons, plus about 10 migrating Common Loons. 4 White-winged Scoters were flying out from the D lookout. The main dike at Horicon Marsh had the Black-necked Stilt between the dam and the dead tree. The water level is very high on both sides so there is limited area for the bird to feed. On the way off the dike road a Red-headed Woodpecker was working one of the trees before the gate. A fun day to be birding with 106 species tallied. Number 100 for the day was curiously the Black-necked Stilt!
