My oldest daughter and I went out looking for woodcock last night too, in the UW Madison Eagle Heights gardens. There's a nice open patch of soaked ground adjacent to the woods that held a half dozen killdeer an two Sandhills yesterday afternoon. Unlike Noel we did not detect any yesterday evening... But good to know they're popping up (literally). Only a matter of time!!!
