This morning I found a ROSS'S GOOSE amid a small flock of Canada's. It was just south of Staples Lake near the Barron/Polk County line road. I watched it for five minutes or so until a low flying plane scared all the waterfowl away. When the birds took off I saw MALLARDS, WOOD DUCKS, and my FOY AMERICAN WIGEON. There are also hundreds upon hundreds of DARK EYED JUNCOS throughout the area as well as dozens of FOX SPARROWS. I also had my FOY YELLOW BELLIED SAPSUCKER this morning too south of Cumberland. I may have heard an ORIOLE, but was not 100% sure of the song. Haven't heard them in a while! Great day in Barron County.
