I spent about an hour at 6th Ave earlier this afternoon and the place was hopping, 75 Stilt Sandpipers, 120+ Lesser Yellowlegs with a mix of other common species (Least, Pectoral, etc). Also in the mix were a few more uncommon species which include a WILLET, 6 AMERICAN AVOCETS, a HUDSONIAN GODWIT, a RED-NECKED PHALAROPE, and 4 BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS. I tallied 17 species of shorebird in an hour at this location, by far the best I've had this year. I will definitely keep checking this place on a regular basis. A cloud of 450+ Common Nighthawks flew overhead while I was at this location. Good Birding!
