[windows2000] Would like to understand ISA Server and the clients better

I've been in my current job for 9 years now, and as I've mentioned on this list
before, I had to become the system administrator about 2 years ago (with little
training). As a consequence, there are a lot of things I don't understand
(although I do know a lot more than the average programmer analyst would know).
One of the things is ISA server. We have ISA server 2000 on a Windows 2000
Server. The previous system admin had somehow made a Microsoft Firewall Proxy
Client, which we have to install on any new PC that comes into the door, so
that it can be trusted by ISA to access the Internet, etc.

First question: How did that previous system administrator create the setup for
the proxy client?

Second, how does ISA and the proxy client work together?
