What I really need is something I can pipe to a text file for analysis
later, so that I can compare it with the text files of other servers. Does
something like this even exist?

You can use Microsoft's Baseline Security Analyzer. It will probably give
you inaccurate information also but it is printable.
Microsoft is intending that this analyzer as well as SUS (when it becomes
WUS later this year) will eventually report similar (maybe even accurate)
information about the patches installed.
The baseline security analyzer allows you to scan single or multiple
computers with a single click.
Works pretty good. It has told me that certain patches are not correct
because the version is later than the one expected. That sounded ok to me
so I left those patches installed.

Hey guy and girls,
I've got a question. Is there a tool that will list the installed MS
patches/service packs/hot fixes for a given Windows machine. I know that if
you use a hot fix executable, you can run it with a -l option, which lists
all the installed patches, but to a window. I need this output in text.
HFNETCHK doesn't do this, it just tells me what I need to get (and it was
wrong on 2/2 test machines). I've already tried google, but if you find it
there tell me the keywords you've used as I've tried many.
