Memory fuzzy, but I believe firewall can cause this. Gencontrol uses ports 139, 445, and 5900. -----Original Message----- From: windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ron Leach Sent: Wednesday, August 23, 2006 1:16 PM To: windows2000@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [windows2000] RPC Server Unavailable Awhile back JK informed the list about GenControl (which is pretty handy!). Sometimes when I try to connect to a machine I get the 'RPC server is unavailable' error message. All of our machines are Win2K & XP. How do I fix this? I have tried comparing the settings for hosts that I can connect to vs the ones that I cannot. No luck so far. TIA Ron ***************************** New Site from The Kenzig Group!
