Sunbelt Exchange Archiver is a newer product with a good price. It is doing
everything we need for less than a third of the cost of some of the more
common names.

We looked at a few end eventually brought it down to a choice between GFI
Mailarchiver and Symantec EnterpriseVault. Others was far more expensive
and/or required routing mail through an external organisation.
GFI installed simply in a test enviroment, was working immediately and is
extremely simple in concept and execution. It contains many sensible design
decisions (for example automatic rollover to new databases at set
intervals). EV took an age to install, is clunky, overcomplicated, obtuse,
buggy and, to be honest, we never got it to work. My contact at Symantec
eventually stopped responding to my queries.
It was a no-brainer really.

I've looked at Postini and MX logics.
GFI Mailarchiver looks like a great price.
Also toying with the idea of Enterprise Vault although that solution will
keep it in house.

What's the good word about GFI? Did you investigate other solution and find
that GFI was the tool for you.

We use GFI Mailarchiver, which uses the Exchange journaling feature to grab
a copy of all mail into and out of all mailboxes. Mail is stored in monthly
databases so it's easy to backup and archive. It has a few niggles but
overall I love it. Since everything is archived and browser-accessible,
users have no leg to stand on when it comes to Outlook.
