I usually check this lists posts in the morning here (around 0800-0900) while you guys still are online (to some extent) after which most of you drop off and then usually around 1500hrs most of the US members start to pop back again. Angus(from UK?) is a god-send at times living in a timezone pretty close to me. And then we have the lurker from the Uppsala University IT-dept that pops in from time to time too (same time-zone obviously). I'm pretty well covered I think. 8-) Sorry to screw up your morning with the "file new"-question. 8-) I solved it (kinda'...) by exporting a regkey from a 32b WinXP computer with a working text (.txt)-entry and merging it with my WinXP x64. There's got to be a more practical way than this... _____ From: windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ray Costanzo Sent: Thursday, February 21, 2008 2:06 AM To: windows2000@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [windows2000] Re: OT: RAM sticks I'm glad you're able to still get some joy from this list since you're in a such a different time zone than most of us, it seems. But in some ways that's bad for me. I get to work at 6AM, and this morning for example, I saw your question about the New-[file type] shortcut and that blew away the first 30 minutes of my day. The time between 6am and 10am when others arrive is my productive time. I shouldn't even open Outlook. But then usually by the time anyone's able to answer any of your questions, you're probably in bed watching Ingrid Thulin movies. I think I may have gotten Jim's goat a time or two, but he somehow has resisted from banning me and locking me inside a burning car. I don't think this list is any different than the rest I'm on, no offense. Anyway, I learned to live with Ray's occasional (and strange) comments on things, so I'm ok and prettty hardened I like to think. 8-) Just trying to be as PC as I can; ppl all over the world read these mails and are readily available on Google and what not. 8-) Monty Python, eh? Is that what you it-guys across the pond do all day, looking up quotes at imdb? Tsk, tsk, tsk... ;-) Besides, it's always a good thing to never piss off the moderator(s) of any given list! Basic netiquette in short.
