Subject: [windows2000] OT: MS Access - Generating multi-column report

I have a relational database that will eventually track student goals
for a high school. There's a query in it, and it pulls the data for a
given report. I exported the query's results to a table, as I can't
release the entire database publicly. That way I can show what I need
help with:

I'm trying to create a report that uses 2 columns. I've read the help
system, I've read a couple of websites, I can't get it to work. I'm sure
I'm doing something stupid incorrectly, but for the life of me, I have
no idea what it is I'm doing wrong.

Across the page header, I have the name of a class, and the student's
name.
I'm told that the page header spans the entire page, and doesn't affect
columns at all. Good.

I have a group header, that has the category for a competency listed,
and then each competency is listed under 'detail'. I need that group
header and detail view to utilize two columns, going down one column,
and then back up to the second column. I've done everything I know how
to do, and I have no idea what I'm overlooking.

Could anyone take a peek at the database and make any suggestions?
Thanks!

There's a copy of the database that I'm working on, along with the
troublesome report, at http://www.geekdrew.net/content/temp/test.mdb.

Thanks!

Drew
