Correct Andrew, this is an intranet hence DNS resolution needs to be
done
internally

That's not going to work if I'm correctly assuming that their
"intranet" DNS
entries are distributed from a local nameserver rather than a public
one.

Try on www.dnsstuff.com <http://www.dnsstuff.com/> to check if DNS
system
is resolving your site name and address.

Working on an intranet web site. All works fine when hitting the

with the internal IP. However, when trying to access by name
"intranet", it
cannot find the page. Intranet is defined in DNS and if I ping
intranet, it
will reply back with the appropriate IP. Any ideas as to why the
browser
will not respond to the friendly name?
