Did you set up the host headers on the web site on the web server? Turned the proxy off but no joy there either. So I'm fairly stumped. -----Original Message----- From: Jensen, Douglas [mailto:douglas.jensen@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, November 12, 2004 5:16 PM To: windows2000@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [windows2000] Re: Name resolution If you go to IE and type //intranet or http://intranet in the address space do you get to the site? If you type http://www.intranet I am thinking you do not get the site or does that happen with the above addresses also? I can access 3 of my servers by using their computer name in IE just by typing http://computername in the address space. This happens just because there is a host name in DNS for these servers and IIS is running on those servers.
