When you say "computer accounts" - do you actually mean specific
computer accounts?

Or created computer objects via ADU&C gui?

Bear with me if I'm telling you something you already know, but computer
*accounts* named the same as the object, but with a '$' appended to the
end.

Well I wrote a HTA a few years back, for our PC maintainers (uses
opendsobject, so they can run with elevated privileges whilst within the
HTA), and that's for precreating (if need be) computer objects in
specific OUs - or if the computer object / account already exists,
allows them to move it (as well as other stuff like set the location
field (from a list of OU names, grabbed from AD) and group membership
for the PC.

And this has always worked OK for built, or rebuilt PCs to pick up on
the precreated computer objects / accounts.
