Actually, the SRV records for the DC's are being DDNS registered to the BIND server automatically. All we needed to do was create the underscore files on the BIND server and allow the DC's to Dynamically update. So, everyone knows where everyone lives by way of DNS.
The BIND server then tells workstations where their DC's are located.

What are you trying to accomplish? I shudder to think of what would happen if a DC thought it was authoritative for it's Domain, and yet had a different suffix. How will it know where to DDNS register? How will everyone else find it?

But maybe I am confused. It happens all the time...

Subject: [windows2000] AD DNS question

-New Windows 2003 Active Directory. -BIND DNS Server with DHCP doing DDNS. -AD does not have Windows DNS installed.

-Trying to find out if any AD specific functionality will be lost if the
"My Computer" properties (of both the workstations and DC's) DNS suffix
does not match the Active Directory Domain Name?
