Hi Rod The printer may be set-up to pick up a DHCP address when you plug it into a port then you should be able to either telnet to that ip or more likely http into it and it'll have some basic config page where you can give it a dedicated ip and sort out protocols, settings etc. Then once you've given it an address you can set it up from your print server. I have not used brother but most 'network ready' devices work in a similar way, there may also be some software from brother needed which will 'discover' the printer once it's networked.
