A 5 port hub will always have an uplink port. It will be at one end or the
other.

Subject: [windows2000] A networking question

Hello list,

I have a network jack in my wall that goes to a 16 port switch. I'd
like to hook up a little 5 port switch that I have, but it doesn't have
an uplink port. True a false? I can use a crossover cable and just
plug it into one of the ports, and that will be as good as having an
uplink port.

I'd just go try it and see, but a) I'm still at work, and b) I own zero
crossover cables.

Thanks,

Ray at work
