High Arlene, That is a very good question. I had allot of problems using JFW 11 with both versions of Winamp. I couldn't get JFW 11 to work right with Winamp 5.571 and 5.572. The only way I knew to fix this., is to go back to JFW 10. It seems to me, that JFW 11 has a mind of its own. Like I said before, this problem needs to be addressed by Freedom Scientific. I said something to them about this problem recently, but they don't seem to care about fixing the problem. I myself, am considering getting another screen reader. Maybe something like Window Eyes. My best regards. John. ----- Original Message ----- From: arlene To: winamp4theblind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sunday, February 14, 2010 6:13 PM Subject: Re: using 5.572 light, some key combos not working Hi there, Is that why my friend can't hit right arrow on her xp machine? I can and we are both using jaws 11. ----- Original Message ----- From: DJ DOCTOR P To: winamp4theblind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sunday, February 14, 2010 12:47 AM Subject: Re: using 5.572 light, some key combos not working High Joann, This is not a Winamp problem, this is a JFW 11 problem. I ran in to the same problem using Winamp 5.571 and JFW 11. There are some bugs in JFW 11 that needs to be address by Freedom Scientific. But until then, you may wish to role back to JFW 10. Hope this helps. My best regards. Someone did have the full version installed, but I took it out as I thought this version was causing my problems. But the problems persist with Light version, and this has never happened before. For one thing, alt f 4 doesn't close the program; in fact control P doesn't open preferences. To do either of these things I have to go into menus and can't use the shortcuts. So I have to remember alt f and then the letter x to exit program. And alt and then the letter o for preferences. I also can't push the letter c or x for play or stop. The other scripts appear to be fine, such as finding how much time is left, etc. But I think the c and x command and the alt f 4 or control p functions are Windows commands, not Jaws commands--is this correct? I reinstalled it and still can't do these things. Oh yes and equalizer, same thing; must go to alt menus and find it to turn it on. Does anyone have suggestions? I don't know what else to do, as it's been clean-installed already. I also did a Jaws repair, so I don't know why some of the ordinary Windows commands for the program don't work. I also made sure classic skins are checked. Thanks. Joanne ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- No virus found in this incoming message.
