hi,
no such issue happen to me before but you can give the following a try.

navigate to your winamp installed folder located in c:\program files, look for a file call winamp.ini and delete it. relaunch winamp as normal and you will have a your winamp setting back to the default. try this and tell us the result.

i'm facing a somewhat similar problem.
previously, hitting enter on a song title would play the song instantly. but things are not the same now. hitting enter would only launch winamp without
playing the song requested.

I have a winamp 5.  it used to work very well.  I'd click on a song, and
then if I right-arrowed, it would take me further into the song, or left
arrow would move me back. Now I can't arrow at all. Every time I click on
on a song winamp says: we are sorry but we have to close and if you were
working on something, you're gonna lose it.
Then it tells me that I can send or not-send an error report.
What has happened to my nice winamp?
