Scott, I regret to say that I do not have a clue about all those things
either. I do know that the WMA allows you to play Windows Media Player
files, but the numbers associated are confusing too. My experience has been
with CD's with WAV files which I rip onto my system as MP3 files and then
burn back to CD's, creating my own CD's with only the music I want, as WAV
files. I'll watch for other answers to your question so I' too, will learn.
Sorry.

John

John,

Those are some well-written steps, thanks. However, I'm hoping you might be
able to shed light on one other aspect of ripping. I see several choices for
encoding, only a couple of which I recognize. Are any of these formats
lossless? Or is choosing 320kbps the closest I'm going to get to that level?
I also noticed WMA as an option for encoding, and within WMA there were
several different numbers. What does all this mean?

Thanks,
Scott
