Whitman Fashion Mom Contest 2013 Congratulations to Rubi Bruce for being the Winner of the Whitman Fashion Mom Contest 2013!!!!! Thank you to those that came out for the show and for helping Whitman PTA with this fundraiser event. Other winners were Lulu Prado - Ms. Congeniality Dimitra Danilopolus - Whitman Facebook Mom Alba Falcon - Most Fashionable Marylolis Garcia - Best Runway Presentation Congratulations to these fabulous moms and Whitman PTA hoped that everyone enjoyed the show Holiday Shop 2013 - Whitman PTA has room for volunteers! The holiday shop store is here from December 16, 2013 - December 19, 2013 in Room 8. Setup for the holiday shop is on December 16 in the morning. The shop will be open only during school hours, there is no selling before or after school. This is an opportunity for students learn the great feeling of giving is just as much fun as receiving. Most items are $5 and under. Whitman PTA is looking for volunteers, see the attached sign-up sheets, either fill out the form or reply to this email. Please take the filled out form to the front office. Each class has been assigned a shopping day and there will be make-up time mostly on Thursday, December 19. Below is the list of which class is going when. Monday, December 16 Segars, Froman, Aaberg/Campbel (PM SEEC), Barrett, and C. Watson Tuesday, December 17 Ms. Jackie/Johnson (AM Pre-School), Aaberg/Campbell (AM SEEC), Brady, Gregor, Ms. Jackie/Johnson (PM), Hayes, Reed, and Maggard Wednesday, December 18 - Minimum Day Kemp, Reyes, Kosen, and Humphrey Thursday, December 19 M. Watson National PTA Take Your Families to School Week Grant Whitman PTA was awarded a $1000 grant from the National PTA to host a series of events revolving around success of student achievement beyond high school for February 2014. Winter Break December 23, 2013 – January 3, 2014 School returns on January 6, 2014 Family Movie Night January 17, 2014 featuring Monster’s University San Diego Civic Dance Arts Collage in February 2014 This a professional show of fabulous dancers comprised of San Diego Civic Dance Arts Company Dancers (Young Adult Ensemble, Adult Ensemble, T-Troupe, and Company). Dancers can earn money through ticket sales for the show. A student at Whitman has been dancing with Civic Dance Arts for the past 6 years and has made it into the advanced junior dance company. Her goal is to make it into the San Diego Civic Dance Arts Company. Any monies she earns will go towards her training in the art of dance. There is a special promotion that you can purchase two premium tickets (middle, and side sections ) for $15 that are normally $10 each. PLEASE CONTACT CELESTE FOR AN ORDER FORM!!! Show dates are Friday January 31 at 8:00 pm, Sat Feb 1, 8, 15 at 3:00 pm, and 7:00 pm, and Sun Feb 2, 9, 16, at 2:00 pm.
