Whitman Fashion Mom Contest 2013
December 14, 2013
Whitman Auditorium
Doors open at 12:30 pm
Join us for an afternoon of entertainment, food, raffles, and Fashion at this
signature fundraiser event for Whitman PTA to raise awareness and monies for a
Running Track.
Order forms for the fashion show have been sent home with your student.
They are also available at the front office and a copy is attached to this
email.
Raffle tickets are$1!!!!
*****SPECIAL PROMOTION****** For one week only, from Wed, December 5, 2013 -
December 12, 2013, admission tickets purchase will come with raffle tickets,
General Admission - $5 (5 Raffle Tickets), Preferred Seating - $15 (15 Raffle
Tickets), VIP Seating - $25 (25 Raffle Tickets).
Raffles will be given at the event and winners do need to be present. To view

Many fabulous prizes are being given away and the Fashion Moms have been busy
gearing up for the Fashion Show. Help make this a historic event by spreading
the word and showing your support.
Holiday Shop 2013
The holiday shop store is coming to Whitman on December 16, 2013 - December 19,
2013 in Room 8. Setup for the holiday shop is on December 16 in the morning.
The shop will be open only during school hours, there is no selling before or
after school. This is an opportunity for students learn the great feeling of
giving is just as much fun as receiving. Most items are $5 and under. Whitman
PTA is looking for volunteers, see the attached sign-up sheets, either fill out
the form or reply to this email. Please take the filled out form to the front
office. There will be a reminder note and an envelope going home on the week of
December 9, 2013.
National PTA Take Your Families to School Week Grant
Whitman PTA was awarded a $1000 grant from the National PTA to host a series of
events revolving around success of student achievement beyond high school for
February 2014.
Check out the recap on National Parent Involvement Day on the SDUSD's website,
of which the Whitman PTA hosted an event.

San Diego Civic Dance Arts Collage in February 2014
This a professional show of fabulous dancers comprised of San Diego Civic Dance
Arts Company Dancers (Young Adult Ensemble, Adult Ensemble, T-Troupe, and
Company). Dancers can earn money through ticket sales for the show. A student
at Whitman has been dancing with Civic Dance Arts for the past 6 years and has
made it into the advanced junior dance company. Her goal is to make it into the
San Diego Civic Dance Arts Company. Any monies she earns will go towards her
training in the art of dance. There is a special promotion that you can
purchase two premium tickets (middle, and side sections ) for $15 that are
normally $10 each.

Show dates are Friday January 31 at 8:00 pm, Sat Feb 1, 8, 15 at 3:00 pm, and
7:00 pm, and Sun Feb 2, 9, 16, at 2:00 pm.
