Hello Whitman Families and Friends,


As we come into the holiday season, there are many events and dates to add to
your calendar.  Please keep in mind this weeks school days are all half days and
next week is Thanksgiving Break.  We hope you have a wonderful week!!!



Whitman PTA Board Meeting

November 19, 2013

6 pm in the Whitman Library



National Parent Involvement Day

November 21, 2013

9:30 am in the Whitman Library

Parents are invited to school to visit their student’s classroom, learn about
common core,  donate canned goods for the Whitman ASB Food Drive, learn about
upcoming events with Whitman PTA, and meet other parents.   Light refreshments
and childcare will be provided.  Spanish translation is available.



Fall Fundraiser Delivery

November 21, 2013

The fall fundraiser orders will be delivered to the school to be sent home with
your student.



Whitman ASB Food Drive

Support the ASB for their goal to be number 1 in the division for the canned
food drive.  Send your donations of non-perishable food items with your student.
  The food drive ends on November 22.



Parent/Teacher Conferences

November 18, 2013 – November 22, 2013, school is dismissed at 1:25 pm.  Annie’s
art school will be from 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm.  Music Villa is cancelled for the
week.



Thanksgiving Break

November 25, 2013 – November 29, 2013



Free Arts & Craft activity at Clairemont Square

Day after Thanksgiving, meet Santa and join in on some arts and crafts



DJ Glow Party
December 9, 2013, 1:45 pm in the Auditorium
For the fall fundraiser participants that sold 10 items, they will be invited to
the DJ Glow Party.



Whitman Fashion Mom

December 14, 2013 Show and Raffle/Voting tickets are on sale now.  Prices are $5
for General Admission, $15 for Preferred and $25 for VIP.  Raffle/ Votes are $1.
 When you purchase raffle tickets for $1, it counts toward a vote for your
favorite Fashion Mom, while you have the chance to win wonderful prizes ex.
Disneyland, Sea World, Boomers, Museums, food and much much more!  Get your
votes in and come see the latest trends on the catwalk.  This event is for
everyone and all are welcome!  If you have any questions, please contact the
PTA.



Holiday Shop

December 16, 2013 – December 19, 2013

Whitman Library

This is an annual community outreach event for Whitman PTA where students learn
the joys of giving is just as much fun as receiving and well as provide a
learning experience on budgeting and counting.  Whitman PTA will be looking for
volunteers to help setup on December 13, 2013 after school as well as run the
shop during school hours from 9 am to 3:30 pm.  The holiday shop will not be
open before or after school and is closed from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm, except on
Wed, the shop closes at 12:30 pm.



Winter Break

December 23, 2013 – January 3, 2014

School returns on January 6, 2014



Family Movie Night

January 17, 2014 featuring Monster’s University
