Jed,

I am not quite sure what your looking to do, are you
designing the site, producing the site, programming
the site?

You can check out
http://webdesign.about.com/mbody.htm
and look around, I have found some helpful articles.

As for flash development (i.e. design and nominal
actionscripting) I have seen rates of between $50 and
$75 an hr. in NYC.

I hope this helps.

Sorry I couldn't make it to Fez tonight everyone,
hopefully next month...sometimes life has it's own
agenda for you.

Again thank you all for your suggestions regarding web
hosts.

best,
james
