Exciting news....we are opening the Orange Community Center...a place for arts
and gathering.
The first play and art exhibition is March 17 at 3pm.

in 2002, Seattle Sunday, March 17, 20193:00 p.m.Orange Community Center(doors
openat 2:30 p.m.) Free Admission. Donations welcome. Background: The Orange
Community Center is a new spacebeing prepared and opened by volunteers to
create a space for people to shareand enjoy the arts in downtown Orange. The
first program will feature theGreenfield Temple Israel READERS THEATER, a new
adult education initiative--readingand discussing plays with Jewish themes. 25
Questions for a Jewish Mother, waswritten by Jewish, female comedians, and
performed Off Broadway. The playexplores the cultural upbringing and thinking
of a wide variety of Jewishmothers. The audience hears actual responses of
twenty Jewish mothers who wereinterviewed, being asked questions such as: How
important is it toyou that your child be brought up Jewish?Do you keep
kosher?Were you or any membersof your family affected by the Holocaust? There
is both comedic and poignantcontent--a little stereotype; a little history; a
few flashbacks to Jewishthinking of past generations. The key question for the
audience: Isthere something genetic or in the Jewish experience that connects
Jewishmothers across generations and is different from non-Jewish mothers? And
ifthere is a difference, what is it? And where there are similarities, what
arethey? What values and beliefs of our mothers continue in our lives? The
Orange Community Center artgallery will showcase local artist. Sarah Kohler of
New Salem will share herphotography at the opening on March 17th. For more
