This was initiated by a Warwick resident who is responsible for the
written content of the fundraising appeal. She is the person fostering the
dog "Buddy" and wanted to raise funds to provide medical care for him as
well as other animals in the future.
To clarify, the money raised will pay for future veterinary care, as the
dog has already been seen twice by the veterinarian and is on several
medications. Yelp For Help has covered all the bills to date.
As most of you already know, in 2005 I started Yelp For Help to collect
donations from those who want and are able to provide financial support
for stray animal veterinary care. Taxpayer money is not used for vet care
because of the generosity of so many good people through the past 13
years.
Thank you to those who already have, or intend to donate, either online or
by check. For such a small town, we do very well when relying on each
other -- we have a great community here in Warwick.
