Can we obtain vinyl tape that does not have the sticky backing onit? I can't
remember ever seeing it unless it was magnetic.

Candy and everybody, I don't have any sources to report on the Teflon, but do
have this interesting news: apparently the chemical that makes Teflon is unsafe
and the government is having it removed from the market. By 2010 95% of Teflon
had to be removed from the market and by 2015 production will be completely
ceased.
I've heard this about Teflon pots and pans but didn't know it applied to all
Teflon products. So we'll all be exploring alternatives to this label type. I
wonder if vinyl tape is a good alternative...

Erica: Would you please share any responses you receive with the list? I have
used the Teflon tape for years to make clothing labels, as well as other
reusable labels that I attach to items with either a rubber band (as in the
case of medicine bottles, etc.) or safety pins (in the case of clothing). The
Teflon tape is excellent for these purposes. It lasts forever and can go
through both the washer and the dryer. By "regular plastic labeling tape," are
you referring to Dymo tape with an adhesive backing? Thanks, Candy

A consumer of mine recently ordered Teflon label tape from this agency:
http://shop.wcblind.org/Teflon-Label-Tape_p_850.html
but what she received was regular plastic labeling tape. While she has a call
out to them I thought I'd ask to see if anybody has another source. I don't
find it at any of the big product stores. Note that this is the size that fits
through slate slots, is machine washable, can be ironed, and I believe is
non-adhesive.
