individuals who are deaf-blind.
Open Position: Coordinator, Adaptive Technology
Department: Adaptive Technology / Outreach
Location: Helen Keller National Center -Sands Point, NY
Full Time (Non-Union)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Develops and implements protocol and coordinates services to consumers in the
state of New York under the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for
telecommunications equipment distribution. Supervises the Senior Instructor
Adaptive Technology/ Outreach. Evaluates consumer's ability to use adaptive
technology and computer skills, Adaptive technology includes hardware and
software such as: refreshable Braille displays, Braille note-takers, screen
magnification, related software applications and telecommunications equipment
Plans lessons and provides skills training in content areas of Adaptive
Technology curriculum based on the findings of the evaluation and as determined
by consumer's personal needs and preferences, employing appropriate
techniques materials and communication preferences.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Master's degree in Deaf Education. Special Education, Education of the
Blind/Visually impaired, Rehabilitation of the Blind/Visually impaired,
computer science or related degree.
